Getting Bedraggled In Cardiff City

The whirlwind that is my life seems to, at last, be setting down. We gave ourselves a few weeks to catch our breaths, but now things are back to normal. Not that this slightly unconventional life of mine could ever be considered normal – but the sh*t that hit the fan has now been cleaned up (what a lovely image THAT’S conjured in my mind).

A Wander Around Cardiff

The fact that we are now able to stop dodging the bullets of hatred that were being mercilessly shot at us, means that we are able to put our energies into far more constructive projects. My fledgling vlog had to be put on the back burner for a while.

I mean, I’m sure nobody would have wanted to see the sleep-deprived, stressed mess we were in. We were seriously beginning to have more than a passing resemblance to cast members of The Walking Dead!

Now the we’re much calmer of spirit and with our sense of humour trickling back, it seemed the right time to put together another mini vlog.

Being called to an early morning meeting in Cardiff offered up the opportunity to give you a bit of a flavour of the city. I hadn’t been to Cardiff itself for around five years, so it was a bit like discovering it all over again.

I can’t say I managed to video a lot as rain stopped play (as you’ll no doubt guess from the rain bedraggled mess I was in at the end of the blog), but it has reminded me just how wonderful the place is and made me eager to visit again soon.

I had forgotten just how unique this city is. With it’s Castle, museums and six victorian arcades all stuffed with unusual shops, it offers heaps of Welsh charm alongside some really high end stores: Jo Malone, Vivienne Westwood and Flannels to name but a few.

The shopping is excellent, the eateries extensive and the whole place seems to have undergone a facelift and much needed makeover since I was last there. I was actually blown away by how clean the place is. The last time I visited it was a tad on the grubby side. But now, well now it’s positively gleaming!

With the city being less than an hour from my doorstep, I see quite a few more trips to Cardiff and possibly even a few vlogs about this jewel of Wales. Let me know if you’d like to wander around Cardiff again with me.
