Taking A Blogging Break And Weekly Vlogs

If you do watch my vlogs or keep up with my witterings on this blog, you will know that life has been a bit mad lately. Good – but hectic!

I’ve been putting a lot of thought into how I spend my time and have come to the conclusion that I need to reshuffle a few things, this blog being one of them. As much as I enjoy blogging and cannot foresee a time when I could possibly say goodbye to my little space on the internet, I do feel that I need to really dig around in my analytics to see exactly what content you are enjoying. It’s all very well me wanting to write about x, y or z but if nobody’s reading then maybe I need to change the route this blog is taking.

I won’t be gone for long, two to three weeks at the most and I’ll still be putting up the odd vlog. But for now I’m going to take a step back, endeavour to look at this blog with fresh eyes and make some decisions.

Are there topics I cover that you particularly enjoy? Are there some you simply pass on by? Let me know your thoughts in the comments and I’ll take it all onboard.

Cheerio for now, I’ll see you in a couple of weeks!

Love your more introspective, self improvement posts. Your perspective has helped me look at myself with new eyes.

Im fairly new to your blog Michelle, but have binge read it since discovering. Trying to decide my favourite category, I think Id choose your life posts. I love the variation and perspective you give. Having said that, I always enjoy your beauty and fashion posts too, and Im not into fashion blogs really. Enjoy your break, I look forward to reading on your return xx

I’m glad you said that Kerry because I do love writing my life posts. Looking at my analytics they seem to go down really well with readers so I’ll keep them coming xx

Hi Michelle. That sounds like a very good plan. It is difficult to say exactly what I like most. It really depends on the mood, the day, my own focus of that week… I love getting inspiration from several perspectives and you are one of them. Thanks for that and take your time to decide on your next steps and priorities. We have got only so much time, so making sure you make the best out of it is a very wise thing to do! I am sure you will be ever so happy having done so in these few weeks you give yourself.

Thank Lieske (lovely name by the way). I do sometimes wish there were more hours in the day, and I really do have to prioritise my time. I now have a plan to move forwards and feel ready to take on the old internets again 🙂

The thing I enjoy most about your blog is that any topic you blog about usually has your own personal take on it and I like the fact that it’s how you see something rather than an ‘authoritative voice states how this topic should viewed’. Too many bloggers start off well, become popular and then for some weird reason, their posts start to sound like a scripted editorial rather than a blog.
I read blogs because I’m interested to read about that person’s own views, thoughts and reflections.
I find that if something is sincere, it’s more compelling.

I do get your point that time is an issue and that you need to decide what works best for you.
I’d suggest this: to hell with the analytics – if you genuinely want to tell us something, blog about that.

There are sooooo many bloggers these days.
I follow the ones that sound sincere and soon stop going to the ones that seem to be writing to a script that the SEO rating says will get the most hits.

I usually check your blog every few days or so to see if you’ve posted. I’ve always enjoyed reading the posts, so thank you 🙂

Have a great bank holiday weekend 🙂

Thank you so much for your lovely comment, it really made my day

I do know what you mean about some bloggers – they all seem to homogenise into one style of blogging, which is a shame because their quirkiness or unusual way of writing is why I followed them in the first place!

I do always try to keep it very real on this space of mine, and I do try to give my readers a glimpse into my ‘mistakes’, my rather hectic life and what I learn along the way. It’s good to know that what I write is appreciated for its sincerity.

So I’ll keep writing from the heart, keep writing the way I love to write and try to keep this a positive space.

      Thank you once again.
