I do love a good Christmas market. I’m a sucker for anything festive and handmade, and Swansea Christmas market is stuffed to the brim with both. Andrew (AKA Mr Chic) and I spent a very happy afternoon having a mooch about the stalls, buying presents and generally soaking up the festive atmosphere.
In this world of instant gratification and mass marketing, it’s such a joy to find craftspeople with the skills to make unique and beautiful goods. And the smells! Rustic Charm (below) was simply Christmas in a wooden chalet.
I mentioned our wedding in the vlog, you can catch the slideshow of it here.
We might, just might, have accidentally bought a few things for ourselves. What can I say, it was the fault of the very nice gentleman from Glynhynod Farm who kept encouraging us to taste his range of awesome cheeses and organic spirits. It was the seaweed gin that did it I tell you.
After filling our senses with the sights, sounds and smells of Christmas, we stopped off for a spot of lunch at a bistro followed by a quick pint at Copper. Well half, I love Boss Black Beer and I usually drink pints, but I was already on a high from the gin – hic! We’ve also been overindulging lately, hence only a starter for lunch.
Thirsts quenched, stomachs full and toes warmed we decided to visit the Christmas Fair and release our inner six-year-olds.
The ferris wheel looked so pretty at night, I was kind of sorry we took a spin during daylight. Ah well, I’ll just have to pay Swansea Christmas Market another visit now won’t I 😉
I hope you enjoyed a taste of what Swansea has to offer. Please do watch the vlog, it will give you more of an idea of the day. and why I love this Welsh city of mine.
