I’m Back! With The Results Of The 2016 Reader Survey

Well, it took longer than a couple of weeks to get my life sorted. But I’m back now and ready to blog my little socks off.

A few of you have contacted me to let me know that you’ve kind of missed me, which absolutely made my day! You’ve also been very understanding about my need to have a bit of breathing space, and for that I am extremely grateful.

I bang on about self-development quite a lot on this blog of mine, and I believe part of being the best ‘me’ that I possibly can is by knowing when to step back and re-evaluate my life. Which is exactly what I’ve been doing for the last few weeks.

I’ve made a number of decisions about where I want to live, how I want to work and the future of The Barefaced Chic. I know the direction I want to take with this blog, but before I make changes I wanted to understand what YOU like and what you don’t like.

A little while ago I asked you to fill in a short survey, the results of which have given me a pretty good insight into what you want to read and how I’m going to move forward with this blog.

I’m surprised just how many of you are interested in my outfit posts, I’m also blown away that self-development came in a close second. I do love writing them, but I was concerned that you may not be enjoying them – so colour me happy!

The fact that a whopping 75% of readers who filled in my survey read a post as soon as it’s published brought a big, fat smile to my face.

I was also incredibly moved by the lovely things you had to say when I asked the question, “Why do you read The Barefaced Chic?”

I like your style, I like the way you make problems easier to cope with.

I identify with you as I’m in the same age group and want to live a better life.

For inspiration from a woman who has been in my shoes.

Inspiration on outfits and tips on beauty and building self-confidence again.

I am 54 and still trying to figure my life out. Love the positive attitude!

And this is what some of you had to say when I asked, “Are there any other topics you would like to see on The Barefaced Chic?”

Videos maybe? I’d love to see how you do your hair and makeup.

More beauty please.

Nope, just keep them coming 🙂

Make up tutorials and how you do your hair.

I read all of your posts, but I always love your adventures!

I’m working on getting some videos up on Youtube and I’m dabbling with the idea of having a few makeup tutorials, etc alongside some vlogs about my adventures. So stay tuned for that.

Lastly I asked, “Is there anything else you would like tell me about The Barefaced Chic?”

Thanks for being there – it’s a nice way to lose yourself for a while reading your blog and makes me feel like trying harder!

Great photos, love your writing style. Keep it up!

Love your openness and humor.

Keep keeping it real….. Honest and true with no photo shop….that is what I appreciate most. Thanks!!

You have a wonderful blog! Thank you for sharing your story – you are very inspiring.

Some of your answers had me in tears, the good kind I hasten to add.

Publishing the survey was an extremely worthwhile exercise and the insights you have given me are priceless. I would like to thank every one of you who took the time to answer my questions and all my reader for being so darn awesome!!

Cheerio.
