Weight Loss Journey | Week Three | I Am Not Alone

Well, all in all, it’s been a pretty successful week. I’m still having to play nursemaid to Andrew, who is recovering from dental surgery, which means that I’ve been stuck at home. Not the end of the world but I was hoping to get out in the gorgeous sunshine that Britain has seen fit to bestow upon our winter weary lives.

My weight loss in midlife journey | Week 3 | I am not alone | Lifestyle blog for women over 50 | The Barefaced Chic

I Am Not Alone

I’ve had quite a few comments on my YouTube videos from other youtubers who are on similar weight loss journeys. It’s been really interesting watching their videos and seeing their experiences.

It’s really made me think about how vital support of some kind is when battling the midlife bulge.

I really do think that support and encouragement from others who are on the same path is so very important. Even though I know that I am not alone, the physical proof that’s out there on the old internets is proving invaluable.

Although they’re not for me (I much prefer doing things my own way), as a way of holding yourself accountable and garnering support I am beginning to see the draw of weight loss clubs.

Videoing what I’m putting in my body, publishing my weigh ins and generally holding myself publicly accountable for this journey back to health has definitely made sticking to this path I’ve chosen heaps easier.

My biggest concern around these clubs is their laser focus on weight loss. Surely we should all be thinking about being healthy AND slim?

Now I may be wrong, and please do correct me if I am because I have no first hand knowledge of these clubs, but I worry that good nutrition doesn’t play a part in their weight loss plans.

As I said, my only experience of such clubs if via friends and families. Every, single one of them lost weight, but they all put it back on the minute they stopped counting calories or weighing food.

I’m interested to know what your thoughts and feeling are when it comes to diet clubs. Do let me know if you’ve ever joined a weight loss club and what your experience was like – good or bad.

Enjoying your videos each week as am trying to eat healthily myself to feel better but also to lose a little weight. I am just wondering if your scales have a little switch on the back (under the battery flap maybe?) that will change the measurement from Kg to Stone?
    Best wishes
