A Summer Beach Outfit For Cooler Days

In theory it’s Summer time, I just wish the weather would behave itself and act as such. I mean, torrential rain, sleet and thunder storms are not my idea of beach weather. If there was a way to complain I’d be writing a stern letter I can tell you.

Ah well, I suppose I’ll just have to share a Summer beach outfit with you and hope that the weather takes the hint and brings back the sunshine. I styled this Summer outfit for a cooler day, but I’ll take any darn type of sun on offer at the moment – even sun and a breeze. If the rain keeps up I am seriously worried that I may develop gills!

I first styled this Winser London jacket with a matching dress to introduce the Over 40 Collective, and it’s fast becoming a versatile wardrobe staple. With it’s nautical nod, it’s makes a perfect addition to my boat visiting wardrobe. I teamed it with a striped oversize bag, which I wasn’t sure would work at first, I thought there may be too many stripes going on. But by adding a biscuit coloured hat and sandals to match the trim on the bag, I think I pulled it off.

The bag is an excellent size – I could fit a bottle of fizz standing up, two glasses and my sun cream. Well, what more do you want from a beach bag 🙂

This weather is absolutely rubbish isn’t it! Begs the question how you managed to shoot such a beautifully sunny post? Every photo makes me smile, gives me hope of a Summer yet to arrive. You look gorgeous, as always & I have to say the matching stripes of the bag is made for this jacket!

Ah, the secret to the sun is Ramsgate. It’s in Thanet which seems to have it’s own climate. Sometimes we leave the boat and it’s bright sunshine, then drive 10 minutes inland to find it pouring with rain or vice versa. We’ve been incredibly lucky with our visits recently. Let’s hope it continues.
