How To Style A Pretty Lace Shawl For A Summer Evening Barbeque

What do you think of when I say the word barbeque? Sun? The smell of burgers grilling? Beer? Shorts and tees? How about if I say Summer evening barbeque? The same things? Hmmm, so how are you going to feel when the suns goes down, there’s a distinct nip in the air and you’re sitting huddled under a coat that you’ve hastily borrowed from the host?

I think we’ve all been there and we’ve all done it – the sun is shining, so we throw on our best BBQ outfit and head out the door without a thought for the chilly evening to come. The answer? I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again – layers!

So when an invitation to a Summer evening barbeque dropped through my letterbox I knew just what to do. By styling white capris with a biscuit coloured, long-line jacket and pretty lace shawl I managed to stay cosy yet cool all evening.

I always carry a shawl with me in the summer! It is usually hot in Greece, but in the islands it can get chilly at night! Loving the jacket by the way and the subtle floral pattern!

Ah, I’m now dreaming of warm days in Greece. It’s almost time to put the heating on here in the UK!
