It’s been a funny old day filled with all kinds of emotions. I’m typing this on the way to Wales from Yorkshire. Now six months ago, this would have meant that I am on my way to visit my family – yet I’m actually going home. Yep, Yorkshire has now become somewhere we visit, or as we did today, travel to for business.
I wasn’t sure how I would feel about returning to the land I called home for five years. Would I be sad? Would I feel my ‘home’ calling to me? Would I feel happy in the knowledge that we have, indeed, made the right decision to make the move from Yorkshire to Wales? To my surprise I kind of felt all these emotions and a whole bundle more, but on the whole I felt content.
My heart belongs in the land of song, it rejoices at being surrounded by my family, and Yorkshire lives within it as a memory. ‘Up North’ will always own a small piece of my heart and soul, but Wales is the path that we are meant to tread – at least for the foreseeable future.
We now just need to get our act together and start sorting the house out! It needs a whole lot of work doing to it, and it’s time to roll up our sleeves and get stuck in.
It’s a damn long journey from Yorkshire to Wales so I decided to wear my new (well, thrift store find) grey embroidered cardigan, blue jeans and a snuggly jumper.
I was comfy and cosy all day. Mind you, the faux fur collar doesn’t half tickle 😳
Catch you in the next post.
