My Favourite Outfit Posts From The Last Two Years

Do you know how long I’ve been hanging around on this here space of mine? Two years! Yep, this week The Barefaced Chic is two years old. The time has flown by so quickly that the date almost passed me by, I almost missed my own blogiversary 😳

Other than cracking open a bottle of fizz on the weekend to celebrate (well, it is Andrew’s 50th as well so it would be rude not to), I thought I’d showcase some of my favourite posts from the past two years. Today I’m concentrating on outfit shoots, but I may very well add some other categories to the mix over the next week or so.

It’s been really interesting trawling through my archived posts to find my favourites. It’s amazing how my style has changed and evolved over this last two years. I’m still experimenting with my style, still learning and still making heaps of ‘mistakes’ but I’m finally seeing fashion as something that isn’t just for other women.

For the longest time I used clothes as a kind of invisibility cloak, tones of beige and shapeless garments were my wardrobe staples. I think the old me would have fainted if she’d seen the rainbow that now greets me when I open my closet door.

I’m never going to be a fashion aficionado, I can’t always tell one brand from another and I don’t always know what’s ‘in’ but I’ll tell you this – I’m having one hell of a time trying!

My Favourite Outfit Posts From The Last Two Years

One of my favourite outfit posts | Wearing a burgundy faux fur trimmed cape in the snow | Fashion over 50 | Over 40 style | The Barefaced ChicOne post that always springs to mind when I think of my outfit shoots is this snow filled fantasy. It was actually the first shoot where I felt comfortable in front of the camera, and I think it shows in my eyes – less hare in the headlights. You can see the full post here.

One of my favourite outfit posts | White trousers, cream longline jacket, cream lace shawl, silver sandals | Over 50 fashion | Style for over 50's | The Barefaced ChicI really enjoyed putting together this beige and white outfit for a Summer BBQ. My knee-jerk reaction to ditching the beige was to never wear it again – ever! Yet I think it worked in this instance. See the full post here.

One of my favourite outfit posts | Unusual print jacket, maroon medium heeled booties, fishnet tights with tiny bows, black pencil skirt | Fashion over 50 | The Barefaced ChicI absolutely adore this unusual print jacket which I picked up in Spain. I bought it right on the cusp of my change from beige to bling and it’s always garnered a few compliments. It’s packed away in storage at the moment and seeing these pics has made me realise just how much I’m missing my clothes 😭 Catch the full post here.

One of my favourite outfit posts | Bright red nails, funky thumb ring, cream hat | Fashion over 50 | The Barefaced ChicAh hats, oh how I love you! I have always, always, always admired women who wear hats with ease. I cannot begin to tell you what a joy it is to finally have the confidence to strut my hatted head. See the hat in all its glory here.

One of my favourite outfit posts | Nautical navy and white striped dress, hot pink shoes, huge white hat | Fashion over 50 | The Barefaced ChicA huge hat, nautical stripes and hot pink accessories – be still my beating heart! I loved this outfit, not least because it was the first collaboration with the other awesome ladies of The Over 40 Collective.

Unfortunately, not too long after this shoot I caught one of the decorative holes in the hat on a shop door handle and ripped it. I didn’t realise and got halfway into the shop, unravelled hat following behind me. See the hat before it disintegrated here.

One of my favourite outfit posts | Full length, rose gold, sequinned tight fitting dress, rose gold high heeled shoes, rose gold shawl | Fashion over 50 | The Barefaced ChicNo favourites post would be complete without including this rose gold sequinned dress that I wore to The UK Blog Awards. If you’ve been reading this blog of mine for a while you’ll know that I didn’t win, but I have been nominated for this year’s awards.

I’m hoping I make the shortlist because I had a blast last year, and I’m kind of hankering after another dress. You can see the full blingfest here.

So there you have it, six of my favourite outfit posts from the last two years. What do you think? Have I included one of your favourite outfit posts or have I missed it?

I’m quite new to your blog but what wonderful images and outfits, particularly the snow filled fantasy and the jacket from Spain. And of course the rose gold dress.
