Do You Want To Build A Snowman? Come On Let’s Go And Play!

Every morning, since we had a flurry of snow for Christmas and Boxing day, I jump out of bed, fling open the curtains and hope to see a Winter Wonderland outside my window. Which will shock the socks of anyone who know me because I hate the cold.

Why my sudden obsession? Because I bought the most amazing faux fur cape and I’ve been desperate to do a snow shoot in it. I had it all planned in my head, but Mother Nature just wouldn’t play ball – that is until two days ago.

I woke up to a thick layer of soft, fluffy snow and it was still falling. I don’t think I’ve been so excited to see the world turn into a snowman’s dream since I was a kid!

The look of my outfit shoot was kind of inspired by the Disney movie Frozen which, for some bizarre reason, I’ve been obsessed with. Now don’t get me wrong, I have nothing against Disney per se (apart from the historical inaccuracies in some of their films, their addiction to size zero heroines, ugliness is immoral / beauty is moral – I could go on; but that’s a whole other blog post), I’m just not a massive fan of the company itself. Although I have to say, I have visited “The Happiest Place On Earth” on several occasion and had a blast.

Whichever way you cut it, Frozen seems to get under your skin – there was even a debate on Radio 4 about the nations obsession. So I figured, what the Hell just go with it. So I donned my fur cape, added some plaits to my hair and went out to twirl and play in the snow.

I’ve just realised that the title for this post could have been “I Need To Play ‘Dress Up’ And Twirl In The Snow”

Thanks Jannette, it was a great shoot! Disney has a way or getting under your skin one way or the other. You now have me humming “Do You Want to Build a Snowman” darn it 🙂

Thank you Lisa. My skin is not perfect, but I have looked after it from about the age of 15 so it’s had 35 years of pampering 🙂

Beautiful photos, dear Michelle; they almost (almost!) make me want to go find some snow to play in…and I am NOT normally a fan of the white stuff!! Plus this gorgeous, faux-fur trimmed cape of yours is the thing that a fashion princess’s dreams are made of!!
