If you caught my blog post and vlog on Friday, you will know that I spent last week in the company of the babelicious ladies of The Over 40 Collective. I’ve been lucky enough to have a few invitations to events drop into my inbox lately, most of which I’ve turned down. My life is somewhat eclectic and I sometimes find it hard to drag myself away from my ever-overflowing workload.
Although I’m really getting over my dislike of London, it has to be a very special invite to entice me to the big city. So when MADELEINE invited not just me but ALL of The Over 40 Collective to attend RHS Chelsea Flower Show 2017 I didn’t need to think twice – the answer was a resounding YES!!
An Easy, Relaxed Chic Outfit For A Summer Garden Party
Now I have to say that MADELEINE wasn’t on my radar before Annette (Lady of Style) introduced them to me. Although popular in Germany, MADELEINE has only had a foothold in this country for a few years. As I’m always keen to find new brands to share with you, I spent many an hour perusing their website – the sacrifices I make for you lot 😉
I found their offering to be very much focused on chic, well-cut designs with a particularly well-balanced selection of occasion wear. As a collective, we all found something that suited our styles and personalities – not an easy ask when you have seven women with very different tastes!
MADELEINE gave us complete carte blanche and I found myself spoiled for choice. I knew that I simply HAD to be comfortable all day. I’m also really feeling the heat lately so the fabric had to be lightweight and breathable.
The outfit I chose was very, very easy to wear, true to size and beautifully cut. When it arrived I was a bit worried because on the hanger it didn’t really look as if it was going to flatter me. Yet when I put it on something truly magical happened – I felt like a million dollars!
Although I can’t say enough about the quality and style of their clothes, they do seem to have an issue with stock control, something which I have been assured that MADELEINE is aware of and have taken steps to improve for next season.
Without a shadow of a doubt attending Chelsea’s exquisite Summer garden party was the highlight of the year for The Barefaced Chic. Yet it wouldn’t have been half as much fun, or meant as much to me personally without the company of these six amazing women:
It is a testament to our friendship that we all desperately juggled our diaries in order to spend this magical day together. The support, knowledge and sheer fun these women bring into my life on a daily basis is astounding! Many a time have I laughed out loud at the most inappropriate times because of something one or the other of them have said on WhatsApp. They really do bring joy into even the dullest of days.
We will all be publishing our MADELEINE posts at different times, so do keep checking back as I’ll link to their posts as they go live. In the interim, I’ll link to their homepages. Do pop over to see what their outfits look like in all their glory and have a look at what MADELEINE have to offer. They do seem to ‘get’ the 40 plus woman and what a lot of us are looking for.
Disclosure: My outfit was gifted and A Chic Outfit For A Summer Garden Party was sponsored by MADELEINE. However, as always, my opinion remains honest and my own.
