My life could never be considered ‘normal’ (thank goodness). To be frank, I never know from one week to the next where I’m going to be or what I’m going to be doing. Now I know this would send some people completely nuts – but it works incredibly well for me.
Casual To Smart Outfit For A Summer Work Meeting
I came to accept years ago that my brain is slightly broken and if it’s not stimulated, interested or challenged it simply switches to ‘don’t give a damn’ mode. Yes for me, the road to depression is a mere month of working in a classic 9 to 5 job away. So the eclectisity that I call life keeps both mine and Andrew’s (who is broken is a similar way) brains happy.
However, there are times when my work life bleeds into my time off, or vice versa – which means I sometimes have to be a bit creative when it comes to what I wear. For instance: a few days ago I had breakfast overlooking the marina, a meeting in Margate for a new project I’m working on and the rest of the day free to sit in the sunshine.
Turning up in jeans and a tee for my meeting was out of the question and I didn’t really want to sit in the sun wearing a typical business suit.
Enter my take on a casual to smart outfit for a Summer work meeting. In themselves each piece is pretty informal (expect for the waistcoat), but together I think they portray an air of casual smartness with a twist. For my meeting I did change into a pair of orange flats that I wore in this post, and for the afternoon I simply discarded the waistcoat and jacket, threw on my sunhat and I was all set for a bit of sitting.

The trainers, which are from Strive, have been designed using podiatrist Biomechanical Footbed Technology™, which re-designs a classic flat footbed to the natural 3-dimensional contours of your feet. Being as my feet are flatter than your average pancake – that’s what happens when you break your toe and wear complete flats for six months – I’m hoping that they will help realign my body.
I’m finding I can only wear them for short periods before my feet start to ache, but I’m fairly optimistic. Have any of you had problems with flat feet? Have you got any tips for getting them back in shape, so to speak?
Disclosure: Casual To Smart Outfit For A Summer Work Meeting is NOT a sponsored post but my trainers were gifted from Strive. As per usual, my opinion is always honest.
