7 Bloggers, 7 Last Minute Christmas Party Outfits

Last minute Christmas party outfit. Silver sparkle roll neck top, silver grey cardigan, silver grey cropped trousers, high heeled snakeskin pattern shoes, round sparkle bag | Standing next to a canal | Over 50 fashion and style blog | The Barefaced ChicI’ve been invited to more that a few Christmas parties this festive season – hic! And, because of my rather empty closet (yep, our things are still in storage), I’ve had to be quite inventive. As, except for the odd investment piece, I really don’t want to be buying lots of new things.

This got the old cogs turning so, along with the other members of  Over 40 Collective, a decision was made to rummage around in our wardrobes and put together 7 last minute party outfits either without purchasing anything at all, or doing a last minute shop. Keeping things as simple and effortless as possible.

Now I have to confess, I did purchase the grey cardigan a few weeks ago – what can I say, it called to me. As for everything else I’m wearing, it’s been lurking in my wardrobe for a very long time.

Because most of this outfit has seen it’s fair share of partying on down, I’ve tried to link below to pieces that are similar, or that I really like/covet.

The eagle-eyed will have noticed that I changed into a pair of flats during the shoot. I thought ending the shoot in a pair of flats, next to an abandoned railway, freezing my butt off seemed indicative of a good night out 😂

After seeing what the other ladies of the Over 40 Collective found in their wardrobes or purchased, I’m seriously considering asking them for donations! Just feast your eyes on these last-minute Christmas party outfits:

RetroChicMama wearing one of her last minute Christmas party outfits
Michelle (RetroChicMama) teamed an unusual necklace with the softest of dresses. I’ve seen her wear this in the flesh so to speak, and it’s amazing the difference accessories have made to her look.

What Lizzy Loves wearing one of her last minute Christmas party outfits

Ah Lizzy (What Lizzy Loves), she needs nothing more than her megawatt smile to sparkle at any Christmas party. Although that red dress is an absolute show stopper!

The Sequinist wearing one of her last minute Christmas party outfits
Lisa (The Sequinist) sparkles her way through the entire year, but she’s really nailed the Christmas party look with this sequinned dress!

Lady of Style wearing one of her last minute Christmas party outfits
Annette (Lady of Style) always looks super elegant, but this outfit – wow, just wow!

Not Dressed As Lamb wearing one of her last minute Christmas party outfits
Catherine (Not Dressed As Lamb) has such flair for pulling an outfit together, and this party look is no exception.

Nikki from Midlife Chic wearing her last minute Christmas Party outfit.

Nikki (Midlife Chic) looking stunning in head-to-toe black with a touch of gold sparkle.

I’m always fascinated to see how the other women from The Collective style their looks. I keep checking my Dropbox in eager anticipation of what gems will be sent to me. They certainly inspire me to try new looks, I hope they have inspired you with their 7 last minute Christmas party outfits.

Cheerio.

It’s not a colour I’ve worn a lot of, but I’m liking it. I am definitely more a trouser girl. Glad you like it Suzy.

Believe it or not, it was Andrew who bought the bag. He’s definitely got an eye! He often turns up with random bits and pieces for me, I am a very lucky girl. And, when I am bored with it, I will donate to you xxx

Yep, I’m going to have a fight on my hands over that bag! But it’s mine I tell you, all mine! Ha! I must admit, I thought Andrew had lost the plot when he dragged me to the slag heaps/disused train line, but he’s got some lovely shots.
I’m thrilled with how well the collab went, I second your yay us with bells on!

Glad you like it Julia! The nail varnish is Barry M Coconut Infusion. I can’t tell you the colour because the label has worn off 🙁
It goes on pretty easily and lasts a good few days without chipping.

Dear Michelle, you look like a dream. Your 40 collective did so well this time. You all look stunning. Really I love all of your outfits.
This silver/grey is perfect with your hair colour. Your hair is short(er) now if I remember it well?
The high heels and the bag have my desire too. Lovely of your husband to bring that home. My husband is the same, he also has a good eye and sometimes comes home with presents like. Beautiful silk scarf or ocre trousers. And he also photographs me at locations which make me think “what??” And they turn out just as good as yours.

      Thank you so much Greetje
Isn’t it wonderful that both our husbands have an eye for such things! My hair is, indeed, a bit shorter and darker. I’m still loving it
