I have decided that being a nomad suits me. I’m kind of loving the whole ‘I’m not sure where we’re going to stay for the next few weeks’. Quick update for those of you who may be new to The Barefaced Chic – we sold our home with the intention of moving to Wales, then Brexit happened which threw a spanner into the works, then our tenants took longer to move out of a house that we were going to temporarily live in. So we are now living on our boat and occasionally staying with friends/relatives.
The old me would have been completely freaked out at the thought of not having a house to call home, but I am honestly really rather chilled about the whole thing. The only fly in the ointment is the ridiculously small selection of clothes that I now have in my possession. Until we have an actual wardrobe, it simply doesn’t make sense to unload all my stuff from storage. Which means outfit shoots are going to be a bit dull for the next few weeks. I am planning on making a few purchases for Autumn/Fall which I’ll certainly share with you. I’ll also be attempting to glam up my very basic wardrobe with a few interesting accessories – so watch this space to see how that works out.
Rather than not putting up a post today I thought it might be fun to show you what I wore when I recently took the controls of a jet to put on a pretty nifty air display. So may I present to you me, trying to look good in a flight suit :)
As you can see, the saying “she would look good in a plastic bag” doesn’t really apply to me. Flight suits are not the most flattering of attire, but it was well worth looking like a bag of spuds to experience this:
By the way, my name badge says Hammett as that was my maiden name, I have yet to order one in my married name. It’s only been five years, I’ll get around to it one day.
