Lots Of Lace And A Statement Necklace

It has been – wait for it – pretty good weather-wise up here in Yorkshire. I know, I was shocked myself. It was wonderful to be able to throw open my wardrobe and choose something I wanted to wear, rather than something sensible and waterproof.

I was rather spoiled for choice when deciding what to wear for Sunday lunch with friends at a local hotel. After much deliberating and more than a few reminders from Mr Chic that time was ticking on – “Honey, it’s almost time to go. Has the wardrobe eaten you? Should I send a search party to Narnia?” – I decided try and throw on lots of lace and a statement necklace.

I teamed a very oversized top, which I first wore in this post, with with a black lace skirt and my favourite knee high suede boots. I synched in the waist of the top with a wide black belt and Bob’s your uncle – a completely fresh¬†look to a floaty top.

I wasn’t quite brave enough to go without an extra layer (well, you know me an my layers) so I took my trusty black and white geometric wrap with me. I’m rather glad I did because lunch turned into a long, lazy afternoon which turned into a long, lazy, chilly evening.

I think the statement necklace pulls the look together, anything too delicate would have been a bit lost. The three quarter sleeves of the top allowed my Lizzy O Diamante wrap bracelet to really catch the light. It’s difficult to capture on camera but this sure does sparkle. You should have seen it in the evening light!

So what do you think? Are you a fan of lots of lace? I’d love to know, so do leave a comment down below.

Cheerio.

I don’t think I’ve ever seen ‘lace clashing’ as a thing, but you’ve managed to make it a thing here! I love the combination of your white lace top and the black lace skirt (with sequins!!), especially in the last photo where you see them co-mingling with each other. Beautiful! Everything else is gorgeous as well, including your dear self and that very amazing necklace. xx

It’s strange, but I would never have put these two together before I started this blog. I love that I can play ‘dress up’ from my own closet. Glad you liked the outcome :)

Such a sophisticated boho style, Michelle!
Your suede boots are a perfect addition to this look. I have similar ones and since they are so light, they are perfect for this season too.
    The photos are really beautiful!
